Savourd is run by Archie Comparelli, trading as Savourd, based in Manchester, United Kingdom. These terms cover the Savourd iOS app, the Savourd web app and this website. Using Savourd means you accept them. If you don’t, don’t use it.
You must be 18 or over. Savourd is about restaurants, bars, pubs and cocktail bars, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
Savourd covers Manchester and nowhere else at the moment. You can use it from anywhere; the places in it are all here.
You need an account, and it is yours alone — don’t share it, and tell us if you think someone else has got into it. One person, one account. Keep your email address current, because it is how we reach you.
Savourd is invite-only for now, which means we can decide who joins. We can also suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
Your reviews, notes, photos and lists are yours. You keep every right in them. We don’t claim ownership and we won’t sell them.
What we do need is permission to run the app: by posting, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, copy and display your content inside Savourd, and to use it in the rankings and recommendations Savourd produces for other people. That licence exists so your review can appear on a venue page and in someone else’s feed. It ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies sitting in backups until they expire.
You are responsible for what you post. Only post what is yours to post, and only say what you actually think. Please remember that a review names a real business run by real people: be honest, and be fair.
There is zero tolerance for objectionable content and for abusive users on Savourd. Don’t post any of this:
Reporting and blocking are in the app. Every review and every profile has a report option, with reasons covering offensive or abusive content, harassment, spam and reviews that aren’t real. You can also block a user, which stops them seeing your reviews and stops you seeing theirs. You can always email hello@savourd.co.uk instead.
We aim to act on every report within 24 hours. Acting means removing the content and, where the behaviour warrants it, ejecting the person who posted it. Accounts removed for abuse are not reinstated.
Names, addresses and other venue details come from the Google Places API and from what people using Savourd tell us. Places close, move, change hands and change their hours, and we do not verify any of it ourselves. Check before you travel. Ratings and rankings in Savourd are opinions held by the people who wrote them, not statements of fact about a business.
Savourd is provided as it is. We don’t promise it will always be available, that it will be free of faults, that a recommendation will suit you, or that the information in it is accurate. It is a young app in one city and it will sometimes get things wrong.
We won’t be liable for losses you couldn’t reasonably have expected when you started using Savourd, for business losses, or for anything another user does. Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. If you use Savourd as a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
You can leave whenever you like: Me → Account → Delete account in the app deletes your account and everything in it, permanently. Or email hello@savourd.co.uk and we will do it for you.
We can suspend or close your account if you break these terms, and we will tell you why unless doing so would make the problem worse.
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes with them, and we will tell you in the app before anything significant takes effect. Continuing to use Savourd after that means you accept the new version.
If you use Savourd on iOS, Apple’s Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement applies alongside these terms. Where the two conflict on the licence itself, Apple’s terms win. Apple is not a party to these terms, is not responsible for Savourd, and doesn’t provide support for it — but Apple and its subsidiaries may enforce these terms as a third-party beneficiary. Your use of the app must also comply with the App Store Terms of Service.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring proceedings in your own courts.
